I love this place. It has been a go to every time I visit LA. I had the Sando 2.0 and it was amazing. The staff is also next level helpful. It was amazing meeting Lee, Ryan and Brian. Very refreshing to walk in a place that has good food and even better people on the team. I can't wait to come back.

I like this location a little better because of its shaded line and amazing staff. Food is always good. The best chicken sandwhich in LA. Get the regular sando. I think it's well balanced compared to the heavier 2.0. It's good but not my style. Fries are good too. Collards greens are good. There is a parking lot place north of this location. Be careful! It's cash only. I would park meter or in the plaza parking lot which I had trouble finding.

Howlin Rays is a really awesome chicken spot in the heart of downtown LA. While there's a bit of a wait the service is phenomenal and they are very welcoming. It has a great energy to the place but could use a bit more seating . If you try any new levels of spice they give you samples so you know what you trying in advance. I got the hot chicken sandwich. And what I like about the hot chicken sandwich is that its level of hot is a good level of heat that doesn't sacrifice any of the flavor. If you're not good with spicy food i would say stick to medium and below. Great experience first time trying it fresh out of the kitchen. Would definitely recommend and go back.

Found our new go to place to eat before a Dodger game. We had the medium (hot) "Sando" and fries which did not disappoint. Spicy and flavorful with the perfect amount of coleslaw and pickles for that extra crunch. My daughter had the chicken and waffles and loved it. Our cashier was Ryan who was awesome. We had about 10 people in line ahead of us and got our food in about 20 minutes. This place is just 4 miles from Gate D with easy access to parking in and out. Enjoy!

Second time at this location and the food tastes delicious. Came on a not so busy weekday mid-day, waited only 10 mins and was able to sit at the tables and enjoy my meal. Staff super helpful in deciding what to order, witness them help some tourist families and were very patient

What We Ordered: -(2)The Sando (Medium) $14 Each -Mild Tenders $13 -Orange Soda $4 -Lemonade $4 Howlin' Rays is the most well-known hot chicken shop in LA. There's countless other Hot Chicken shops in LA, but none of them can compare to Howlin' Rays. The hype never dies down either. I came here before COVID hit back in 2020 and there were long lines then. To this day, they still have long lines. Be prepared to wait at least 30 minutes or more to make your order. I seem to recall getting the hot level of spice for the hot chicken. The guy taking my order let me know that they have changed the spices since I was last here. He offered for me to try a sample. I can't say no to free samples. He wanted to make sure I could handle the spice before I ordered it on my Sando. Boy am I glad that he did that! I took one bite of the hot spice level of the hot chicken and I was overwhelmed by a strong spicy flavor. I instantly started to tear up and my nose began to run. It was very embarrassing. I'm glad I was able to try it ahead of time otherwise I would have been disappointed to order this and not be able to finish it The Medium Hot Chicken Sandos are still very spicy. I like to think and I can handle my spice pretty well (I guess not) and I felt like the medium spice was still very spicy. Don't sleep on this Sando! It's very big and filling. It is more than enough to eat for one person and even could be shared amongst two smaller people. The tenders are massive. The pair well with some of the dipping sauces as well. The customer service here is next level. The staff working the register are very personable and good conversationalists. Where else will they give you a free piece of chicken to make sure you know how spicy it really is?? No one does that. They are only concerned about making money and processing the next order. I really appreciate the staff working to make you feel more than number on your order. When you pick up your order, they are very charismatic and kind. They introduce themselves to you and help you make sure you get what you need. Customer service is lost art in today's society, but not at Howlin' Rays. Howlin' Rays, great food and great service!

I loved: Banana Pudding I really liked: Sando Sando 2.0 It's been 5 years since I've been here but damn it's still such #goodeats The chicken is so moist and the flavor profile of the 2.0 has a bit more of a kick. Absolutely worth the 30 minute line that's always here and perfect to grab before a concert at the park. Service here has always been amazing. Super friendly and always going the extra mile. Not a ton of places to sit because of how popular Howlin' Rays is but people tend to eat quick or get stuff for takeout. They used to have counter seating but I assume they got rid of that during covid.

It's been years, but it's still great. Been trying to get here for months, but my in-office days doesn't match up with their business hours. Finally remembered the correct hours and managed to get around to driving here. There's a big jump I'm heat from mild to medium. Fully cooked all the way through. Outside is crispy, inside is juicy and not greasy. Batter has great seasoning. Meat must have been brined because it has flavor itself, not just from the batter. There's a line to order. The wait to get the food is shorter. Doordash is available. They give tokens for the restroom. Staff are all chill, friendly and helpful. Casual dining. Picnic benches outside is more seating than the indoor seating available before.

FINALLY got to try the famous Howlin' Ray's! My friend's and I got there around 6:30pm and the line was almost to the escalator. Also, as long as you're in line before 7, they'll still take your order. Food: I got the hot sando, a hot chicken tender, fries, potato salad, and the bread pudding. Everything was delicious! The Sando had my mouth on fire! But I couldn't stop taking a bite because it was still so flavorful. The potato salad definitely helped neutralize some of the spiciness in my mouth! Might get the medium next time though (it was hot going in and it was hot coming out)! Lol. Would definitely recommend everything that I ordered. Service: Really friendly! When my friend and I were in the store to pick up our food, Bye Bye Bye was playing over the speaker. The chorus was coming up and the staff were hyping us up to do the dance... and you KNOW we had to deliver! Lol. They ended up hooking us up with the bread pudding! Parking: Tons of parking across the street and if you get lucky, you'll be able to find some street parking. Not a lot of places to sit. Only 2 long tables. I can see how this could get really packed if this was around lunch time. But I gotta say.. Props to the people that get the Howlin spice! It was fun watching people's reaction as they take a bite into their Sando and the HOWLIN just creeps up and smacks them in the face! Lol! Props to them! They took that spice like a champ! Will I be back? Oh heck yes! Howlin Ray's has definitely set the bar really high on how Nashville Hot Chicken should taste! I definitely want to go back! Can't believe it's taken me so long to try this spot! I'll see you soon Howlin' Ray's!
